St. John cemetery, Worcester.

Per Mr. John McAuliffe:

My Grandfather, Timothy J.McAuliffe sc, designed and sculpted this Irish High Cross at his studio here in Worcester.

This monument is just Beautiful!

It is all hand carved, without electric tools.

It was the first Irish Cross in St. John Cemetery.
It is on the grave of Andrew Athy, who had an Undertaker Funeral business here.

His grandson, Anthony now runs the business...

The copper likeness of Athy was also done by Timothy...

Notice T.J. McAuliffe signature under the figure (R).

The original was stolen, pryed off the monument a few years ago...
but Anthony had a spare...My dad worked for while with T.J.....but later at the Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney Studio in NYC...until his sickness and death.

Now you know why I like and have an interest in monuments,
and enjoy the talent of these sculptors of the various VBOB monuments...
